The numbers behind Cristiano Ronaldo's record-making 100 goals

Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player to score 100 goals in UEFA club competitions after his brace in Real Madrid's 2-1 Champions League quarterfinal first leg win over Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

Ronaldo reached the milestone in a historically tough away fixture for Real Madrid, where they had won just once in 11 previous visits.

Ronaldo had been sitting on 98 European competition goals since September. His first strike, just after half-time, snapped a 659-minute scoreless streak in the Champions League. Eighty-four of Ronaldo's UEFA goals were scored with Real Madrid; the other 16 were with Manchester United

Ronaldo is also the leading goal scorer in the Champions League. The Portugal international has 97 goals in 136 UCL games, three more than his closest rival Lionel Messi, who has 94 in 114 games.
Twenty of his goals have come against German clubs, his most versus any clubs from a single country.
With his brace on Wednesday, Ronaldo has now scored six goals in five games against Bayern Munich, tied for his second most against any club in European competition.
Ronaldo scored his 100th UEFA goal in his 143rd game, over 11 years after his first (Aug. 9, 2005, against Debrecen).

Ronaldo and his Real Madrid side travel to Sporting Gijon on Saturday, before next Tuesday's return leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.

We should enjoy the days when Ronaldo is still stealing the headlines;because there will be a time when Ronaldo will no longer be able to amaze us.
